Information we collect
aiME is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:

All processing happens locally on your device.

VaultDrive — Offline USB Backup
Private by design
VaultDrive backs up your phone to a drive you own. Your photos, videos and files never leave your phone except onto that drive.

Your data, your drive
The USB drive you connect stays fully under your control. VaultDrive saves your backups as ordinary files and folders, so you can disconnect the drive, format it, or use it with any other device at any time.
App statistics
To count installs and purchases, the app sends a short anonymous note with no ID: the app version, device model and system version, whether it's the free version or Pro, and for a purchase the product, price, any offer used and the date. We can't tell which phone or person it came from. It's sent encrypted and kept on our servers at Amazon Web Services.
Notifications
Notifications about your backups are created on your phone. On Android, occasional announcements, which may include offers, arrive through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. Firebase gives the app a notification ID and is told whether it's the free version or Pro; that ID stays with Google and isn't sent to us.
Permissions
Photos and videos, to read what you back up; files and drives, to write backups to the drive or folder you choose; and notifications, if you allow them.
Internet use
VaultDrive goes online only for the app statistics and notifications above and, on iPhone if you turn it on, to download originals stored only in iCloud.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google Play. VaultDrive never receives your payment details.
Diagnostic data (optional)
If you opt in through your phone's settings, Apple or Google may share anonymized crash reports with us through the App Store or Google Play. These contain no personal data or file contents. You can turn this off at any time in your phone's settings.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off in your phone's settings at any time.
- Delete backed-up files from your drive at any time.
- Uninstall VaultDrive to remove the app from your phone.
